Floodgates Audio is an award winning production and post- production sound company. Founded in 2011 by Joe Flood, Floodgates has grown to house a full service editing suite, recording booth and innovative team of engineers. About Joe Flood
Founder and president, Joe Flood, started his audio carer in 2000. While attending Columbia College Chicago, Joe worked as a recording engineer with Hip Hop and House Music producers. He then switched his focus to Live Sound Reinforcement working with such artists as Kesha, Mumford and Sons, and Fitz and the Tantrums. He has also been an audio engineer for prominent events like the Taste of Chicago, Chicago Blues Festival, Chicago Jazz Festival, and Barak Obama’s Presidential Inauguration.
While continuing part-time work in live sound, Joe went on to share his audio talents at an advertising firm, honing his skills in sound for film. For the past 10 years Joe’s work has been heard by millions on television, radio, film, and social media.
In 2010, Joe won Emmy award for “Best Documentary Sound” for the full length documentary, 5000 Miles From Home; the story of Italian War Veterans.
About the Team
Colin Mulhern studied at Columbia College Chicago. Colin comes to Floodgates with over 10 years’ experience in live sound and event production, recording engineering, and as a working musician. He is an integral part of the Floodgates team, working on location recording, original music composition, sound design, and post- production engineering.
